Students in Seribu Islands Taught Betawi Traditional Dances

As many as 30 Senior High School Students in Seribu Island, were taught with art of Betawi Dance which was held by the local Tourism and Culture Sub-Department. It aimed to preserve art and culture of Betawi for young generation.

There are 4 kinds of dance taught, they are Ba'da Hatam, Handak Ganjen, Kinang Laras dan Renggong Manis Dances.

Setu Babakan PBB Routinely Holds Art and Culture PerformanceHe told that such training is held for 4 days ahead of community art performance event in Tidung Island, on the upcoming Saturday. In the event will be performed with Lenong Betawi, Rebana Betawi and 4 Betawi dances taught.
"We hope it's not only on the event but eventually they could re-teach it for their siblings so that the dances will be preserved," he hoped.
